Hi RaJender9666 Have you been diagnosed with a Vitamin B12 deficiency?

Are you supplementing with Vitamin B12?

Do you know what your Folate level is?

Headache is one of the many symptoms of a B12 deficiency but there could be other causes so if you are worried about your "continuous" headaches you should please go and see your doctor.

I wish you well

Rajender - could you say a little bit more about what the headaches are like. I'm not sure what you mean by ear fullness or head fullness.

B12 can cause headaches. If it caused you to become anaemic then that could also result in headaches because your brain isn't getting all the oxygen it needs. It could also be related to neurological problems but it is also true that there are a lot of things that can cause headaches, including repeated use of painkillers.

If your headache has been going on for a number of days then I would strongly recommend that you consult with your GP.

I am not sure if B12 is the cause of headache but I also used to get frequent headaches. Like 2-3 times a week. Also vomitting sometimes. When I was diagnosed my level was 180.

For me the deficiency causes brain fog and confusion. I want to isolate myself from groups or too much sound input. My head hurts to think about stuff. This not really a headache.

When i get my injection, i get a similar symptom of a headache that is more severe the lower i was on B12 before the injection. This headache is more like a migraine and very intense and makes me irritable and grumpy. It lasts a few hours.

If you are not already on injections please see your GP and get them. Your B12 is below the lower limit.

Hi

A continuous headache (along was extreme fatigue) was what led to my diagnosis of B12 deficiency.

I had never suffered from headaches before then one day woke up wit one so severe I couldn't go to work. It lasted nearly 3 months.

I had an CT scan, eye test and saw a neurologist and everything came back clear. Eventually I was diagnosed with chronic headache syndrome and given Nortriptyline which I was told I'd need permanently.

After my mum was diagnosed with B12 deficiency she pushed for my level to be tested. It was 170 and I was given injections.

After continuing with self injections I am now not on any mediciation and my headache went completely. It is always the first symptom to return when I need an injection though.

I hope you can find answers but I would ask your GP to check your B12 along with a CT scan and eye test to rule out any other cause.

Good luck 😊

I would definitely ask for your B12 to be tested as you sound like you're experiencing the same symptoms I was.

Also, when they give your results ask for the exact level as when they called me they said mine was within normal so I asked for the level (170) which they then said was actually below normal.

If your level is within the UK "normal" range you may still be deficient as the NHS "normal" range is far lower than what other countries consider a normal level.

If you can't self inject then I would suggest you try B12 patches and drops and see if you notice a difference. Injections are by far the quickest way to get the boost though.

Also over the counter cool patches on my head really helped to ease the headache for short periods.

I hope you get answers soon I know how frustrating and debilitating it is.

I would move ahead with trying what you're comfortable with, whether it be the patches, drops, injections or a mix of any/all of them.

It's impossible to overdose as any B12 not needed by your body is excreted in your urine.

The drops I used was a brand called Douglas Laboratories and was Methylcobalamin.

My mum ordered the injections and patches so I'm not sure what brand they were. The drops would be a good place to start though
