B12
Hi Newberryk how long is a piece of string? There is no one definitive answer as it depends on so many things and no two people are the same.
It might well be that some symptoms appear to get worse before the get better as the B12 gets to work repairing the damage done to your nervous system - but don't worry about that - it is quite common.
What is your diagnosis? What are your symptoms?
Do you know what your Folate level is? It's important that this is "healthy" as it is essential to process the B12 you are having injected.
I am not a medically qualified person but there are others on here who will be able to advise you if you have further questions.
I wish you well.
Start a logbook and assess a severity score for each symptom.
With injections you may feel like you are on a roller coaster until the right dose is established for you lifestyle.
New symptoms from the injection typically occur in some sequence over 3 days. They are similar to other existing symptoms.
The logbook also supports monitoring nerve repair because it is very slow. It also supports short term memory loss.
It is never too late to start a logbook. You will be on a roller coaster once you finish the loading doses and start the maintenance regime.
One of my symptoms after each jab is a large soft poo about 6 hours later.
The softer the poo the lower my B12 level was before the injection.
When metabolism, that has been blocked by the lack of B12, finally gets B12, it kicks into high gear and floods the blood with metabolic byproducts. Most of this is probably water.
Also repair of damage to the vagus nerve can make one super hungry.
I was going to ask about feeling hungry I haven't stoped eating since I had my injection
Just realize that the hunger is an illusion. Hard to comprehend when the feeling is so strong.
When repair of the myelin sheath on the nerve occurs the signal to the brain is stronger, hence the hunger.
A similar thing can occur that seems to result in pain from the healing of other nerves.
It takes the brain about three days to adjust and recalibrate to the stronger signals. If you tell yourself that it is really an illusion it seems to go away faster.
Stress and worry make it last longer.
For muscle pain, range of motion exercises stimulate the nerve and repair of the damaged areas occurs more readily. Also the range of motion movements seem to convince the brain that there really is no injury and that the pain is fake.
I've got nothing similar for hunger. Eat raw vegetables maybe.
Some may also feel nauseous with vagus nerve repair. This hasn't happened to me yet.
