This morning I requested a TIBC test (total iron binding capacity) from my GP along with other tests. On my return I checked the test form and did not see TIBC but PTFRNS... what is this? Did not find any useful information from Dr Google..
So if anyone knows what this test is please let me know.
Thank you.

Could it be PTFTNS? ie maybe parathyroid function test? I'm just suggesting this since you posted about a slightly raised calcium level a few months ago and the parathyroid is involved in calcium control... Is your GP repeating calcium too - maybe they want to double check your Parathyroid hormone levels at the same time?
taka, thanks for trying to find out what this blood test might be.... it was not what PTFTNS.... Will find out soon no doubt. I did ask for a TIBC test.... and it was not on the form but this oddity instead. It could be related to a parathyroid test but this was not discussed this time.
Hi can I ask if you found out what the PTFRNS test was for as my daughter has been sent a letter to say she needs to go for this test but we also can’t find anything on it and have tried with drs but can’t get to speak to one as they said dr can only ring with no time given but my daughters workplace does not allow them access to phones and as the drs can’t tell her the date when they will ring so she cannot arrange anything with her employer thanks tukesh
