Spare ampoules.

Hi everyone, good afternoon to you all!

I have recently ordered ampoules and have received cyanocobalamin instead of hydroxycobalamin, I have obviously made a mistake somewhere! I therefore have some spare, which may help someone who can't afford treatment.

Does anyone know of any person/group/friend, that takes these and either uses them or gives them out to someone who needs them?

I have 6 boxes of 1mg/1ml x 10 ampoules Vitamin B12 Rotexmedica Cyanocobalamin.

If someone could help I would be grateful and post them on- I'd hate for them to go to waste.

Thanks!!

Why not use them yourself?

I would, but I used them for 6 months and didn't get any better at all. As soon as I switched to hydroxycobalamin, my symptoms were healing.

You don't mind me leaving the post up do you? If I can help someone it's not a waste.

Yup, exactly the same reason I recently gave away my methylcobalamin ampoules.

One size really doesn't fit all does it!

Bless you for thinking of others with your spares.

You could try contacting Martyn at PAS to see if he can find you a deserving recipient.

what's the difference between the two?

I've been on cyanocobalamin every four weeks for 45 years.

The regime for hydroxocobalamin is twelve weeks as it is supposed to be "retained" that much longer.

The cyano contains cyanide but in such infinitesimally small amounts that there is nothing to be worried about and I'm still "clivealive" at 75. :)

I'm no expert but as far as I'm aware, Methylcobalamin is what the body uses/needs, so is already converted to use. Cyanocobalamin and hydroxycobalamin both have to be converted, although hydroxycobalamin is active longer in the body than cyanocobalamin, The latter is supposed to be less painful to inject??

Lots of people use it and are happy with it, it just didn't suit me.

I'll send Martin of PAS an email later today, I'm sure he'll pass them on.

Thanks everyone!
