Hi just started b12 injections and feel even worse terrible muscle aches fatigue no energy full stop, is this normal had 3 of 6 injections

Yes, it's not uncommon. It took me 2.5 weeks (7 injections) before I started feeling better.

Hi thanks just with feeling worse the nurse did say it take time to regulate in body but never mentioned I would feel like this, thanks vicky

It will take a while for you t feel better but it will hit you and you will feel full of energy x

You may need additional cofactors to metabolise the B12.

Try a good multivitamin and mineral supplement plus extra folate, potassium and magnesium. And maybe iron and vitamin C.

It should get better soon!

Have you had your folate levels tested? I was deficient in both B12 and folate. I started with the B12 loading injections, but didn't actually start to feel any better until the GP added in the folic acid tablets two weeks later.

However, regardless of whether your folate levels are low or not it can take a little while before you start to feel better after the B12 loading injections. I get symptomatic again before three monthly jabs, and don't feel better after the jab for around 4-5 days - and bear in mind that you are coming from a much 'lower' B12 place.

Hi folate levels ok I am also with a gastroenteronolgis who has just took my bloods for anemia and have a colonoscope Wednesday

hi.i just fin 6 jabs and feel great..now i dont hav any till june.so i,m taking a supp of vits and b12 tabs ..see how it goes lol,,do keep on and eat as much as you can veg,fruit etc with b12 in,list of high b12 foods on internet,,good luck

Hi thanks for messages not sure at the minute if I'm anemic as wel waiting results when I go for colonoscope Wednesday not looking forward to that, if just going take a bit of time I know the nurse did say I would need the full 6 to start to feeling better I have ordered a god b complex solgar thanks again for message

If you have been low for a long time the body is desperate to get that injected B12 into your cells. So I think there is a bit of system overload going on. That can make things feel worse to begin with.

Hi thanks I had wondered this I think this b12 issue being low.has been under lying for some time,but you know what it's like you read the net and think there is some else, I am also wait bloods on anemia as I did wonder is some of the symptoms that I am anemic as well Thankyou for your message
