I don’t know if there is a cure as such for neuropathy but it would help if you could give some more information about your situation/symptoms. Neuropathy can be caused by many different things so it’s hard to know what might help you.

I’ve written several posts about Neurology on here so perhaps look for them. There certainly is not any cure so it’s a case of controlling the constant pain in you feet toes and legs. It can long term affect your hands and arms too.

Good luck

Mine started in 2012 and has slowly got worse making life difficult.

yes I get a lot of foot pain, and tingling is not nice. I think it’s circulation partly. I get out of my bed and keep walking around til it goes away. . Half the time I don’t think doctors know what to do , I won’t take many medicines because of the side affects.

I recently went on Gabapentin and Meloxicam. They have helped.

I have numbness in my feet as well and it was definitely a side effect of Leflunomide which I took for a year on the urging of rheumatologists. I did reduce prednisone to 5.5 mg but once I stopped the Leflunomide I had to increase to 15 mg pred again a huge setback. No more steroid sparing drugs for me. Am reducing slowly now and down to 6.5 and hope to get lower still. Feeling good so I am hopeful that exercising will encourage my adrenal system to function better.

They told me this type of neuropothy will most likely be permanent.

Hi, I’m from the UK. I take it that you are not diabetic. I ask every one I spot on here with neuropathy, have you been prescribed a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic, ie Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin etc by your doctor? These antibiotics can cause your symptoms! I have had this condition since I was prescribed Cipro 10 years ago! Unfortunately my neuropathy has been diagnosed as permanent. Yours may not be.

Fluoroquinolone is usually part of the chemo mix.

Ask for active vitamin B12 ,folate vit D , red cell magnesium, blood sugar levels .A vitamin B12 deficiency can cause irreversible nerve damage in your spine if not diagnosed early .Both my hubby & I have SACD & peripheral neuropathy due to misdiagnosis & delayed treatment. We have been injected B12 weekly for 12 yrs now
