nerve pain in both legs

You can treat nerve pain with medications such as Amytryptalene (SORRY FOR SPELLING)
This drug is an AD medications, I have taken them now for about ten years. A minimal dose is given to give relief. The Pain Clinic can be very busy and the wait for treatment can be a real problem. A TENS may also be suggested. All I can suggest is wait for your appointment, they will review your medication and explain how to manage the doses.
I do not take a regular dose of medications I vary my dose dependent on how much pain I am in.
What you could look at is the age of your bed and how you use your pillows, pain can be instigated through a bed over ten years old. I am lucky I have an adjustable bed of memory foam, and support pillows made of same or similar, the bed also has a massage unit fitted. Consider changing your seat in the living room, look for recliners with two motors HSL will be able to let you try different models that will help you with your spine and legs. Seating can be a problem if it forces you to slouch. If you are disabled some equipment will be VAT free for disability.

You have a great deal to consider with your complaints, it took me and my Health Professionals several years before they found the correct medications. The drug Amytryptalene is classified as a problem medication and I understand there are other ADs that do the job better if you have nerve damage. Therefore discuss what other drugs will help you. Regards your bed and seat, generally the seat they will measure your leg to knee to check for comfort that is just one thing they check. There are also checks they can perform to make sure your bed is giving you the correct amount of support. There are so many different models of both it can take quite a time to get the right one
Check Social Services, if needed they can help with various fittings and applications they can supply to help you get around, that are dependent on your condition.
Have you tried TENS

Hi you poor darling, I broke my sacrum 13 months ago and have been in pain ever since. The same as you, pain that, never stops. How did you fall and brake you're sacrum? Sometimes I get pain in my sacrum but mostly I get nerve pain. The nerve pain is mostly in my upper thighs, I get a feeling like a,knife is stuck just, under my left butt, pain in my groin, tingling feet and a sensation like a heavy bowling ball in my vagina. I also can't lift anything heavy. I don't know how you manage lifting a young child. I am sorry to hear that your rhumotologist just dismissed your nerve pain. I am in Australia and I see an Orthopedic Neurosurgeon. He gets me to have CAT scans of the Sacral spine every 6 months. My sacrum has healed mostly but my s1 and L5 bone won't heal. I take Pregabalin for the nerve pain but it only takes the edge off and I have Bupranorphine patches 20mcg for the pain in my groin and, thighs. From my experience the pain clinic didn't help at all but I have a,very caring GP. Please keep in touch and let me know how,you are going. Wishing you all the best. Lola
Hi Lola, thank you for your comment I have the same symptoms as you the only difference is I have pain to my right leg all the way to my foot and my toes keeping locking and sometimes I cannot move my leg all foot. As you asked how I fell i had head rush and fell straight on my bum that what the G.P think's happen but the rheumatologist Order some test EMG and Evoked Potential and showed i had L4 L5 S1but he said my symptoms was not the same as I was showing which I could not understand I'm taking oral morph and all the meds and taking but I can't sometimes feel when I want the loo or not my bladder very weak too now i keep doing the exercises but Neurologist said have nerve damage in both legs but no one explained what that means all how going to affect me the future because finding hard now.please keep in touch
Hi Sara I also fell straight onto my butt. My scans showed L5 and S1 isn't healing. Also sacral insufficiency fracture due to Osteoporosis. I now take Calcium and Vitamin D every day and magnesium for my muscles. My GP gives me Prolia injection every 6 months. Prolia helps build bone but so far I have only had 2 injection. My next one is due at the end of January. He says it takes 2 to 3 years to work, to build the bone back up. He said it might take me a couple of years to get better. I have gotten a lot better when I think about it. The first month after my fall I lost bladder control completely and I couldn't walk without a walker for 6 months. My feet didn't know where to go and I had to learn to walk again. Now I can walk, shop, cook, drive and do a,little bit of housework. I atl have,a problem with my bladder. I often have to really push to go. I will keep in touch. Good luck. Lola
