Hello, I get, mostly at night, aches in the lower legs, and difficulty keeping them still. The more I move the worse it gets. Any ideas. I do get cramp, but this is not like it.

Ache in lower legs
I hear ya on this one.Ive been getting them for past week n usually when im gonna get an Episode (Dystonia related)n etc..
For me..medical marijuana calms it 90 percent.I also try to keep my legs elevated at times,i even use heating pad if my legs get very cold, try to drink as much water as i can,n laying on belly sometimes lessens the jerking n cramping all of which lessens it ALOT.
No fun, super annoying n painful at times.
Could be lack of iron get that checked, magnesium is good for aches in the legs hope it helps
Hi Sounds like restless legs syndrome. There's quite a bit of info on the net about it. try nhs website to see if you can identify with any of the causes. Iron and magnesium deficiency may play a part, but there are other underlying causes. You might try increasing the magnesium by eating a banana late in the day as it has mag & potassium and does help to relax the muscles. Assuming it's okay for you to eat them. Iron you can supplement and eat iron rich foods. Taking iron supplements though can cause constipation so the food route is better....although not quite so effective.
I get terrible cramp in my right calf regularly. All I can think of is lack of exercise and perhaps epilepsy medication. I was in a nursing home for 10 days last year after brain aneurysm surgery. The Physiotherapist gave me one exercise to do which helped. Stand close to a wall with both hands on the wall. Stretch one leg out then return to the wall; do the same with the other leg. This is done about ten times for each leg and helps me a great deal!
Will give it a go, thanks
