I've found that being able to distract myself really helps with taking my mind off the pain I'm in, but I seem to be out of good ways to do it. I read in a chronic pain book that trying to name one thing starting with each letter of the alphabet (so, for example, animals, foods, fish, birds, composers etc) helps and it really helped me but I've now run out of ideas for things to list. Neither reading nor watching TV helps as I can't concentrate on them. If anyone has any suggestions they would be really welcome as the alphabet thing very much helped.
