Teeth come out

Hi everyone. For the past 2 months one of my teeth came out, I went to the dentist and he said that because of where the tooth was all I could have was a denture. He told me if I had a bridge put there then it would possibly come out, I don't know why? I don't think he wanted to do it. I didn't fancy having a denture so I left it. I can no longer eat on that side of my mouth because I have a gap and I am scared of my other teeth moving. Today while I am away on holiday my bridge came out of my mouth it wasn't put in properly and there was a small gap and that is why it came out, so now I can't eat on that side. I can't do anything because I am on holiday and it isn't classed as an emergency even though I can not eat. Before I went away I tried to make an appointment to see a dentist because I knew my bridge would fall out but my appointment isn't until the end of April and that is if it isn't cancelled by the dentist, which it usually is. Could anyone advise me what to do, I am not in pain but it does feel uncomfortable. Thank you in advance.

Sometimes you have to take the bull by the horns, which in this case means asking the dentist why a bridge would be likely to come out. Or deciding just to trust that he's making the clinically correct call, unless you have some reason not to trust him in which case you need to get another dentist. I don't understand why you can't chew on the side with the gap. I have a gap right now and there was some concern about the teeth around it moving but I don't think that had anything to do with chewing or not, the dentist certainly didn't say anything about that. I hope you can get by in the short term eating things that need little or no chewing, and get something done about it when you get home.

Hi Scotsman53, I was told by my dentist and the nurse that because I have a gap in the top of my mouth I have to be careful what I eat because my other teeth could move, there is only the root being there that is stopping them from moving. The other side of my mouth the bridge has fallen out and there is a bit of tooth dangling there so I have to be careful that doesn't come out too, luckily I have an emergency appointment in the morning because of the pain that I am in and the fact one side of my face has dropped, probably because i have no teeth there now. Thank you for your reply.
