Hi, carrying on with dental drama..saw Dentist yesterday and he said my abscess was leaking and thats why i have all the nasty in my mouth..he said this would drain on its own!! Has anyone else been told this as surely i am circulating this around my body when i can't get to bathroom quickly and just swallowing it??

(Having root canal on Friday for 'dead' tooth and ?tooth next to it also needs treating...) Really hope they give me good pain relief as will need it...

Yes dentists let abscess drain by themselves. I assume you were given antobiotics. Gargle with salt water to help with healing. Eventually the abscess will heal. I had one that took ages to drain. In the end dentist had to take off filling and pack the tooth with special stuff. The tooth was saved

Hi, my abscess burst over three weeks ago, didn't see a dentist just let it drain. The draining process isn't dangerous at all or harmful. It what is going on underneath that is important, antibiotics for now and either root treatment, removal or just left for pain to subside and keep depending on xrays and when your dentist can do work like this.

Very frustrating at the moment being left with tooth problems like this but what can we do, hope you get relief one way or another soon.

Lila 😊

I’m assuming you are not in the UK (lucky you) as no dentists are open here just emergency hubs.

I had an abscess some years back the dentist drilled a whole in the filling and all the gunge came out in fact it pumped out such a relief and it did me no harm. When the infection had gone the dentist managed to save the tooth. Good luck with it.x

Wow!! That is really gross. I don't understand how a dentist could do that to you. The tooth abscess is very gross and should be drained immediately by the dentist. I like going to the dentist and I go to mine every month but I would never accept something like this to be done to me. I would honestly sue the whole hospital because of this gross thing. I am glad I go to homecareassistance.com/palm... and not some clinic that is situated on the side of the street with unprofessional dentists that could do such horrible things to a person. I am disgusted and very angry about this and I hope you get your revenge.
