I have been experiencing intense scalp pain and discomfort for 3 months . It is burning , sore and uncomfortable and feels like an object is stuck in my ear and scalp. It has got progressively worse and I am struggling to sleep now .
I am feeling very depressed about this pain , does anyone have any advice on how to distract myself and feel better from the pain?
Could it be that you had shingles when this pain started? Shingles sometimes lingers on after the blisters heal, with very painful nerve endings for months.
is your scalp also sensitive to touch? if it is I suggest you see your GP
Do you have any pain in your temples? Like no oh her pain you’ve known. It’s a worse pain than childbirth and fractures. Does your jaws hurt when you chew or touch it?
I have Giant Cell Arteritis . I’m over 50 (I was first diagnosed in 2016) I’m now 60.
I’ve been on high doses of oral steroids.. Prednisolone.
It’s an autoimmune disorder. It can cause blindness if left untreated. Plus it’s a vascular disorder it can cause strokes.
I think you need a scan of your brain ASAP. This pain isn’t normal. See your doctor.
This is extremely unusual . Ask your doctor for an urgent referral to see a specialist . I wish you all the very best .
I have an autoimmune condition and i went through a period of scalp pain , I couldn’t even stand my head on the pillow . I read on another site about black seed oil so i used it at night on my scalp and it really helped , no longer a problem. You should however get it checked by your gp as there could be a multitude of reasons for it , best wishes
