Chest pain, buzzing, popping and strong heartbeats

Hello. Ever since I took the vaccine 5 months ago, I've been feeling chest pain. I can point at where the pain is and it gets worse when I move, breathe and sit/lie down in certain positions. I have this odd buzzing on the left side of my chest accompanied by popping and crackling. The popping and crackling happen even when I stop breathing, so there is no link... I also get strong heartbeats that I can feel in my head while lying down (bounding pulse?) sometimes and I rarely need to take Inderal to stop the palpitations and anxiety. I often wake up with either numb fingers or hands.

I've went to many doctors and they could not diagnose the problem. I did many echocardiograms and they're all different. A single doctor of many who checked me said that I have mitral valve prolapse, but it was never mentioned or reported by other doctors. I really don't know what's going on with me. Any ideas of what it could be? Thank you.

Really sorry to hear you are suffering. The prolapsed mitral valve is not life threatening. I have had this for decades without really realising although I have always had palpitations and feel weary. It was picked up accidentally when i was having a routine medical (my husband died suddenly and i was left with a year old) as I wanted to make sure I was okay. I was told that if ever i had anything pustular in the throat or a tooth extraction, I must be given antibiotics. I don't know which country you are in but now in the UK, the NHS ignore this since their clamp down on antibiotics which is a worry.

As for the vaccine, everyone is too nervous to talk about it, however, all the unpleasant side effects data is emerging now. Because I have always reacted badly to vaccines since a child, I put the covid vax off until May of last year because i was having a lot of dental work done and it was very difficult getting dental appointments and so I didnt want to have to cancel any of them. So I asked my GP which should I have the Pfizer or the AZ, he didnt know and I reminded him of my auto immune thyroiditis. So I went ahead and chose the Pfizer. They sat me down and gave me an antihistimine and when I was okay to go I left and walked home. I am used to walking because I don't drive and it was only about two miles. I also have severe osteoporosisis so I should keep on the move. I felt fine, even by the evening, I thought this is good. So in the morning I woke up and I could barely get out of bed. I thought this is strange must be the walk. However, it didn't go away. Prior to that, I had a chiropractor crack my neck and caused some damage. I contacted an acupuncturist and she said she felt she could help but then added, I only see double vaxxed clients. So I figured, I couldnt feel any worse and waited out the six weeks etc and had the second shot. Big mistake. Every morning I can barely get out of bed, I hurt all over from head to toe. I have since had an EMG test and confirmed I have damaged nerves, neuropathy. I read a UNICEF paper last year written by a doctor saying that anyone with Hashimotos, should not have the Pfizer.

So from having a private parathyroidectomy on the 20 March 2020, (after being messed around for 5 years by the NHS) I thought my life was going to be a new beginning. On the 20th May 2021 it feels like it is the beginning of the end.

I am telling you all of this because you are not alone. I get out of breath and my heart beats a lot and sadly this is part of PMV. I daresay the vaccine has affected me in that respect too but the worst now is walking on boiling hot sharp sponges with constant buzzing. Needless to say, I politely declined any further vaccines. It could be sheer coincidence but I doubt it and the consultant said "we just don't know what the vaccines do".

I'm so sorry you're going through this, Elaine. In Finland, they give you antibiotics before and after dental procedures. Their side effects, however, can be really bad. I'm only 24 and I've never had heart palpitations till I took the vaccine. Now I get heart palpitations every single day and it's not fast heartrate, but rather strong heartbeats. They last for about 2 minutes, but reoccur multiple times throughout the day. The doctor who diagnosed me with MVP said that it's very unlikely the vaccine could've caused the MVP, but it may have "revealed" the symptoms. He didn't explain what "revealed" means, but after reading about it online, I learned that MVP symptoms do occur when/if regurgitation occurs or gets worse, which didn't help at all with my anxiety. "Did the vaccine cause more regurgitation?" It's so hard to find answers when every doctor gives you a different diagnosis...

I can't blame the vaccine or talk about it openly without being categorized as an antivaxxer, yet I'm absolutely positive the vaccine had something to do with it. My symptoms kicked in on the 2nd day after taking the first shot of Moderna, so very similar to your experience. I refused to take the 2nd shot.

I don't know how many years the vaccine took of my life. But, I guess it makes sense since all vaccines are authorized for emergency use. They haven't tested them adequately, so we're the "mice and rats".

I really hope your symptoms get better with time. You're not alone, Elaine. Thank you so much for your kindness. It helped a lot.

Thanks for your reply. Firstly I am sure you will overcome this as you are only 24 and I am 50 years older than you. The problem is not knowing and this causes even more anxiety. I believe your doctor was trying to say (revealed) that you had this underlying condition and the vaccine has possibly made it worse. It could be that you have always had the PMV but I personally do not believe that a vaccine would make it worse. I expect you know already that the flap doesn't close over the valve properly and so if someone were to have a pustular type infection in the blood, instead of the blood passing through the bacteria can stick to the flap, thus causing big problems if no antibiotics are taken. I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted just over two years ago and I asked the dentist to give me antibiotics but he said it is not necessary!!!!! So I was very careful with the extraction as I have had dry sockets in the past, but as a week past with feeling rough and my face hurting, I went to my own dentist and she straight away said oh your face is swollen and i had an infection in the jaw and was put on antibiotics immediately! I cant really tell if the regurgitation is worse but I do feel out of breath and generally unwell if I climb the stairs, that could suddenly be old age ha ha.

Please try to stop worrying about it, you are young and have years ahead of you which I am sure will show improvement.

Anxiety is an awful thing. I started getting an awful ache in my left arm and I mean really awful and it went into my jaw and fingers. I thought, great I am having a heart attack who is going go look after my cats. It lasted about 3 or 4 hours and then died down. Ironically the following Saturday, it happened again, I thought here we go my saturday heart attack and this time it went on for hours. Then thinking about it, I had been trying to use my left hand more as my spine is twisted from the fracture and i am getting a bit one sided. It occurred to me that about 6 years ago, an ultrasound revealed a tear in the rotator cuff when they were testing for a frozen shoulder, so I think it was overuse of that arm and not heart.

If you look on youtube there are quite a few examples of really bad reaction to these vaccines causing inflammation of the heart so maybe you were lucky and have not got any lasting damage. An English tv presenter is starting a petition against AZ as he had was it called a bad batch and has contacted many people who had the same batch who are seriously ill. The irony of it is he said that after the first dose his face was semi paralysed and he was treated for anaphalaxis but he actually caught covid and it is as if the virus itself pushed the poison or whatever it was out of his body as he says since he had the virus he is improving and got the feeling back in his face.

People are discussing it more as you say, we were not allowed to mention any side effects for fear of being called anti vax. youtube.com/watch?v=H7inaTi...

Take care, it's only 5 months but if it persists and you are still not happy, then perhaps try and find a specialist willing to listen. The consultant I saw about about sudden neuropathy was quite open and felt it was quite likely the vaccine. x

Thank you for replying, Elaine! I hope you're right. I also used to get very bad pain in my left arm because I overused it and cracked my elbow a lot! The pain would last for an hour or so, making me unable to move my arm. The pain would also radiate to my shoulder and my neck. I'm so glad they were not heart attacks! You did the right thing by checking.

You're absolutely right. Anxiety is very terrible. I try my best not to worry about it, but it's hard to ignore the symptoms when you're trying to enjoy your life and do your hobbies... I'm happy that you're climbing stairs and keeping your blood circulation going! I truly hope you overcome all your pain and symptoms. I really feel for you!

Thanks for sharing, Elaine. It comforts me that I'm not the only one suffering from horrible and "rare" side effects. I'll keep looking for a good consultant who is willing to listen as you advised! Please stay amazing and wonderful and pet your lovely cats a lot for me. Thank you so much. xx
