Sorry I am new here just found this by the luck of Google. I've been on some form of meds since the age of 13/14. At the time we weren't told the dangers. Now I suffer from symptoms bcoz of that. Do you have any ideas for what else can b used??

What medications have you been on?, what doses?

For how long?

For what illnesses?

What are your current symptoms?

We can't help without full information!

Good luck.

Joint hypermobility syndrome. High dose of anti inflammatory meds along the lines of naproxen. It's just this one I'm wondering if there is another solution. I suffer so badly with stomach issue after being on these since 13years old. I do have a call in for the doctors 2moro. I'm hoping things will be taken more seriously now that my condition has gotten so much worse.

The obvious one is cannabis, internal and external. If you don't feel comfortable with that cbd oil.For your stomach problems peal barley helps sooth your stomach and your nerves. In extream cases use Slippery elm food.

Also have a look at your diet, some foods like tomatoes can aggravate inflammation

Hi, as you’re in the UK, ask your GP for a referral to a pain management consultant. I have hEDS and understand your pain.

The waiting list will be long due to Covid but hopefully you can change meds in the meantime. Beware of Pregabalin and Gabapentin if prescribed. I can tell you from experience that they have nasty side effects such as passing out at the wheel (a huge wake-up call for me) and changes to your personality.

At present I am taking Tramadol and have Butrans patches. To protect my stomach I take esomeprazole and for the side effects of constipation, senna and lactulose. All not ideal but sadly I have permanent nerve damage due to failed back surgery. I would love to come off my meds and have done in the past with a spinal cord stimulator. Sadly it had to be removed as it went wrong and I’m waiting to see a consultant at Southampton hospital to see if they can fit a different sort of stimulator with paddles.

Anyway, hope all goes well for you.
