Pain in right hand side

Hi, I’ve had a pain for a few days now worsening on my right side going from my abdomen/stomach round to my back. I have pain when I breathe in and out. Nothing on left. Started at the bottom I think but it’s in the middle now. I’ve been constipated for a few days too. Could this be appendix 🙈

When there is pain on breathing in and out that is usually a sign that there is something up with the muscles around your rib cage. There are loads of joints where your ribs meet your back and your breastbone, and inflammation can cause pain on breathing in and out. But the body doesn't go by those pretty pictures in anatomy books, all the muscles are joined up together. So if one is tight it can have a knockoff effect across the back and down the abdomen, so sometimes when there is a problem in these muscles it can make it harder to go to the toilet. If you are at all worried of course, or if the symptoms get worse, you should talk to your GP.

Thanks to your reply cyberbarn I went to the gp because the pain was getting worse and I was dreading the night. He sent me to the hospital. I spent hours there in a&e like the other patients. CT scan came back fine. All the bloods came back fine. Ecg came back fine. So they said it looks to us like it could be inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Gave me codeine n by the time I was home I felt like I’d been admitted and discharged 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am a little surprised that they have given you codeine if they think it might be inflammation of the stomach, as for some people codeine can cause stomach problems including pain and inflammation.

This could be a host of issues, from liver, kidney, digestive etc. I don't think any of us diagnose. Get to your Doctor asap. Blessings

That’s what the GP said he was concerned about that it could be to do with the kidney that’s why he was worried. 👍🏽

Painkillers aren’t helping at all

Hi Saeeda1. I have had exactly the same now for about three days only mine is all on my left side. I am putting it down to having a very bad Cold/Flu for about a month. (It's not Covid, I've done two PCR Tests). Thank God! 😀. When I breathe in and out, it is SO painful. I think a call to my Doctor is on the Cards. Hope you feel better soon.

Omg what a coincidence that is! Mine wouldn’t be Covid would it? For some reason I’m feeling really sick I want to puke up and really really tired. Why could this be😢. From the pain to all this

That's exactly what I thought when I saw your Post! I have been sick and lost about 10 lb in a month, haven't been eating because I really don't feel like Food 😞. I have been trying to get through to my Doctor's Surgery for ages this afternoon and they are just not answering! Have to be honest and have to say it is getting me down now so what the next step is I really don't know. Have you had Covid Tests just to check? According to BBC News, there is a very bad Flu going round. I am just thinking all sorts of things but I wish it would just hurry up and go. Look after yourself too!!

Your doctor is the only one who can confirm or rule out the disease/illness process. Best of luck.

The pain has slowly gone 😄. Visit to the hospital was uselesss but got the paranoia out of my head lol. Took no painkillers as I was told it would make it worse. Only constipation tablets which helped. The pain is only slightly there but I it’s more or less gone. Thanks to everyone who replied👍🏽
