Pain in my side (sharp)

Pain in my side - I’ve had an intermittent pain on my right hand side, to the right of my stomach, for years. It was sharp. A few months back I had it and it was so sharp it made me wince. I finally went to my doctor & had a pelvic & vaginal ultrasound however that came back clear. Now, I still get a “feeling” that something is there. It’s a dullness, pressure feeling. Not as bad as the sharpness, but I’m still not right. Could it have been something like a cyst which is in the process of going away?! Where do I go from here? Thank you!

Would you be able to get a CT scan or MRI? I agree with Bananas5's suggestion of gall bladder issues as a possibility. Liver should be looked at, too. Make sure they cover all of the area that the pain seems to be coming from, as well as surrounding areas, to make sure they don't miss anything. I've had the stabbing pain to the right and also lower right area, below stomach. They found Non-Alcoholic fatty liver, but they weren't sure that was the reason for the pain. So far, no remedy or other diagnosis for me because I no longer have insurance, so I just live with it for now. I hope you're able to get a good diagnosis and relief from this!

Thank you. It’s a nightmare here getting a doctors appointment, however our surgery has merged with others and I have an appointment next week. I actually had a full spinal MRI scan earlier this year (separate issue) not sure whether they could see anything on there? I’ll speak to my doctor. I appreciate your input. Good wishes to you.

I was suggesting an MRI on the area where you have pain. I hope the doctor orders at least a CAT scan, which can show some things better than an ultrasound. I hope your other issue is able to be helped as well!
