Hi guys
It's been a while since I've been on here talking to people and taking and giving advice. I suffer from Chronic degenerative disease of my lumbar spine and Lipodermatosclerosis on my lower legs. I have been through the pain clinic many years ago also I attended the Biopsycosocial courses. It was agreed that I would take a maintenance dose of medication but in case of flare ups I was given increased medication. I spent years on a course of medication that I now realise helped me the best and gave me the best quality of life. Since I received a letter signed by my Doctor and his piers asking me to reduce my medication which I didn't understand as it was the pain clinic and my Doctors predecessors that put me on it which I was on for years. Naturally I was scared that it wouldn't be beneficial for me to do. During being in Hospital with my leg infection I was told that they are changing my medication. I very luctantly changed. Not to beat about the bush but it was the worse thing I could have done. Cut a long story short I have been in Chronic pain for a while. I went to my Doctor and he told me he will make a referral to the pain clinic. I told him that I had already exhausted the pain clinic. How ever I went and spoke to a new Consultant and I asked her to put me back on my original medication that your predecessors did. She told me she couldn't. She did change my medication at first which helped me for a while but I then started getting increased pain. I have seen my Doctor and my Consultant finding myself getting nowhere just getting stressed causing my pain level to increase which is exactly what they tell you not to get stressed as it isn't conducive with chronic pain. I am trying but I feel I am just being pushed pillow to post and no one's listening.
IMPORTANT I had a conversation with someone as I found out they suffered from pain in their lower legs. I explained my position. His said "do I smoke cannabis"? I told him that I have never smoked in my life ever also I mentioned it was illegal to smoke it and drive. He then said "isn't it alarming that in society you only have to make two phone calls and you get your cannabis, yet you go to the people that should help you but they don't". I was taken back a bit but when I though about it I though "he's got a point" very concerning!
