Has anyone had experience with a work capability assessment over the phone ?, I currently receive standard pip and low mobility for oesteo arthritis (bilateral hips) wear and tear in L4/5 and depression I had to claim Universal credit as my partner and I separated and have only had experience with face to face assessments concerning my pip and really anxious about what to expect .

Work capability assessment
I had a telephone assessment just after Christmas , the man who rang me was very polite and courteous and put me at ease straightaway. I just answered his questions honestly . It was much less daunting than a face to face , which I usually have . After my assessment he advised me that he was placing me on higher rate mobility . Don't worry you will be fine xx
Neve claimed for work capability myself but my understanding is that is very similar to PIP assessments. Just done via phone. I had PIP phone assessment last December and was fine.
If you decide to tell assessor you on PIP be clear what rates you are on. I am a little confused because no such thing as standard PIP. Is either standard care or enhanced care and same for mobility. Standard and enhanced. I think you mean getting standard rate for care and mobility but am not sure. What I do know about DWP assessments is need to be clear.
WCA are for Employment Support Allowance not PIP. Basically, they will be looking for if things are the same as before or if there are any changes. Just listen carefully to the questions and it might help to have any paperwork you have regarding your conditions etc in front of you, plus any letters from DWP regarding your ESA award.
Yes I had a telephone consultation don't worry it went really well for me the lady was a nurse who worked for the DWP really nice and basically they fill in your form for you you just tell them everything how it affects your daily life so no worries only issues I have is I've been told there will be no back pay even though my claim goes back to the 13 April this year so I hope this helps a little
Hi sisn71, Look at the Benefits and Work website and sign up for their emails. I hope you've applied for and receiving ESA too. I think you need to contact a welfare worker at your local one stop centre, or find your CAB and send a message asking for help.
I've not had a telephone assessment yet but I'm due for one soon. From what I've heard they'll try to give you a lower score and payment and force you to accept it within a limited time scale. You do not have to accept it. Please also note that you should only talk about your health issues to them regarding your worst day/s, nothing else. This is how they try to catch people out and stop their benefits. Hope this helps. I'd love to know how you get on. 😍
Thankyou for your advice I currently get pip for both standard daily care and low mobility since 2016 I haven't applied for ESA didn't know I could while receiving pip I started claiming UC since march when my partner and I separated so that side of things all new to me but will definitely take your advice when I have my assessment on Monday and will let you know how I get on thankyou again much appreciated x
