For over a year I have had what a physio has described as a bent nerve in the top of my left shoulder. It hurts almost continuously and deprives me of sleep. The NHS provide pills which are largely ineffective. I tried acupuncture which made the pain worse. Can anyone help with pain relief ideas please.
This is my first question to Health Unlocked.

I have had shoulder pain for five years, it's in an exact spot where the blade. I was sent to physio and had an mri. I believe it's caused from having a slipping disc in the neck in c6/7, my own research.I am already on strong painkillers for other pain so nothing else was done. (Gabapentin and Co-codamol, full strength and maximum doses and Amitriptilyne)
Waiting for pain clinic referral, as they aren't open yet due to covid.
I have a full length back and neck heating pad that is always on whenever I am sitting in my recliner, the pain is nearly always there.
Maybe the pain is referred pain from disc problems in your neck?
I find a deep tissue massage helps now and again but can be costly.
I've had two frozen shoulders over 5 years ago, either side, don't think that's related but it can't help.
Would love to double check everything with an xray but they won't give me one. 🤷♀️😢
Did you try massage therapy ? I have had accupuncture done on me and I love it . Had a bad shoulder once and accupunture helped I had to go more then once. My sister in law has a new hip and has pain she tried the CBD gummies and really helps with the pain. Try holistic doctors they won’t put you on medication that makes you sick or has all those side effects. Try a naprapathic doctor for massage therapy as well
