Yes go and see GP if it continues but before you do have a close look at your posture and the position you hold your shoulders and neck.
Are you a frequent mobile or tablet user ? Get someone to observe you when you are texting. Shoulders up and forward ? Neck bent forward ? Hunched upper back ? We can develop very bad repetitive habits.
Pull your shoulders down and back. Feel the difference. Bend gently from the waist while sitting. Are you creaky ? Raise your phone up from your lap . Feel the difference ?.
Of course it could be none of these things but having a bad posture around the shoulder and neck can contribute greatly to pain. G.P.s appointment if it's not an emergency can takes weeks. Check your shoulder and neck position frequently throughout the day for that time and see if there is an improvement. ( careful not to pull shoulder back to far - the emphasis is on down then back) Try heat or ice packs .

Could be shoulder impingement, of it hurts put that arm behind you or above your head or stretch to get something, also might get numb patches down arm....anyways look it up n definitely see GP as specialist physio referral might help if not steroid injection and if not depending on tendon thickness or possible tear you should ask gp refer for ultrasound to check that and ortho or other way round but save time if get gp refer you ultrasound while waiting see ortho, last resort could be surgery done by laparoscopy and hopefully it can be sooner than later. I'm waiting on my surgery and l wish you all the best and hope you get sorted out, l was discharged 3 times by orthos in Fife no investigations neck in spasm just meds n neck collar even ended up in hospital 4 years ago. I changed GP and got referrred to a rhuematology 3 months ago for widespread CRPS l have, and she could see deformed shoulder n wondered why nothing been done so referrred me for ultrasound and l got a letter last week saying she got results and referred me to shoulder surgeon as physio or injections never helped l should have been getting something done years ago as it's worse now. I am a qualified sports coach and physio l knew something was wrong but trying get taken seriously instead of just dismissed as muscular was a joke. So keep pushing, do a bit of research and don't take no for an answer. I have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis n no strength in arm or hand wakes me up through night n drop things etc wrists so weak too as it's all been ignored. It could be anything and needs checked out so yep......GO SEE YOUR GP ASAP. God Bless, Deb.
Shoulder pain, had a bout, with it, I think my pillow had something to do with it. I did some breathing exercises, some yoga and ti-chi, certain stretching exercises, hot showers, been OK lately, hope it never happens again, most important is to relax but it's hard when in such pain, good luck, hope you can figure out what moves work for you.
