Hello I know what I will be told is to see my gp which I am going to do ASAP I just suffer from a range of physical ailments that alone may not be worrying but together it just seems a bit odd especially since other people have mentioned it It could be somatic as I suffer with mental illness and take medication doctors often put my symptoms down to this and I know the doctor will just see someone with mental illness I REALLY believe some of my problems may be stress or medication related however I could have an underlying health condition also I’ll explain clearly my situation and what tests I have done

External scan of my ovaries recently all normal

Blood work done liver slightly off which is put down to medication it’s been normal and slightly abnormal for a while thyroid a little abnormal too All the rest where fine

Urine sample normal

Not sexuality active

Female 30

Symptoms from most severe to less severe

At present on and off severe stomach distension equivalent of someone whose 6 months pregnant hard to touch and painful continually asked if I am pregnant I can’t find a pattern to the swelling I pass stools every second day I can’t like my severe swelling to anything it doesn’t follow a pattern

Very easily brushing with no cause this has been going on years I will never not have a bruise on me

Constant bleeding gums for years when brushing teeth

After eating sometimes not feeling well

Knee pain when standing

General stiffness and muscle and joint pain not severe but unusual for someone of my age

Hand can be shaky

Irregular periods I have never been sexually active

Pressure when trying to urinate

Long term headaches had injections bit severe anymore

Food allergies years ago showed up intolerance to milk not severe though

General fatigue could be related to mental illness but getting worse

History of postural hypotension and low blood pressure not severely low

Constant thirst

Minor problems swallowing

Slightly sore itchy eyes

I’ve had most these symptoms on and off for years but they are getting worse especially stomach distension I’ve had different lifestyle changes and I just can’t establish a pattern

Moderate but frequent nausea

What are your iron levels?.

If you haven't been tested, ask for an iron blood panel-- ferritin, etc and get the saturation figure.

Also ask to be tested for Haemocromatosis-- if you are of Irish background it is a possibility to be taken into account. Many of your symptoms are familiar to those who have it.

Further info on iron issues from

Iron Disorders Institute. You can Google them.

Good luck.

Have you heard of Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder? There are several subgroups and not all of them have high levels of hypermobile joints.

rcgp.org.uk/clinical-and-re...

But as ever, patients can have as many diseases as they damn well please (Hickam's Dictum) so even if you had a form of EDS you can have other things at the same time, so even if not every symptom if found in a single condition, it doesn't mean to say that you don't have that condition plus other conditions.

Good luck with the GP, I hope they listen. Have you written down all the symptoms for them? Sometimes it helps to list them in bullet points and hand the list over to them to read.

Have you recently had a change in medication? Are you taking sodium valproate by any chance?

What has your GP said? If you didn't get a good response, ask to speak to a different GP. The only other thing I could suggest is get a piece of paper. Draw three long columns. In one the heading is 'definitely related to mental illness' second column 'a purely physical condition' and in the third box have a heading 'New symptoms - not sure why"

Then keep a journal and every day keep a record of how you are feeling. - the symptoms you get - how severe and so on. Keep this up fo a month - 6 weeks and then give these records to your GP.
