My GP has told me that my hip bone has slightly misaligned and it’s trapped the nerve running between the joint that runs down past the groin, and then down the thigh, causing me to have numbness pins and needles and very bad pain down my thigh, it’s not so bad sitting but standing and walking is very painful.
I was left with this after having bursitis in my hip, I had antibiotics and injection in my bursa, the injection took a while to work, but it didn’t help the thigh pain.
Has anyone else suffered this.
I have had a X-ray and Doctor is waiting results, as to physio or a replacement hip joint.

Thank you for your reply, I am not certain what it is, I thought it might be SP but the Doctor didn’t mention it, he just said my hip is probably out of alignment and it’s trapping the nerve between the joint, I had an x-ray so I am waiting for the Doctors next move, he said physiotherapy, but the pain and numbness along with pins and needles is just awful, sitting isn’t so bad, but walking or standing is dreadful, very painful.
Do you have the same feeling, I take 20mg of amitriptyline at night, so it settles once I lie down, but my GP said he didn’t think it would help the pain.
It didn’t go completely but it wasn’t so bad, but now it’s back worst than ever.
