The last few weeks as soon as I stop moving my right arm I start to get pins and needles from the elbow down to my fingers that actually end up going numb. I have pain from the neck down top of arm to elbow. But my hand gets all cold and find i need to keep moving my wrist and fingers to stop the pain so can't get to sleep it's really bothering me I did have a bad bout of pnumonia about 3 years ago and the same arm was bothering me

Pins and needles with numbness
Hi, i had similar issues as you which started with my right arm but now is in both. My conclusion was many issues with my neck.. Could be a number of other things though. What has your doctor said? X
It could be a shoulder impingement I've had one for several months, it causes neck and shoulder pain and pins and needles in my arm very similar to what your describing. Unfortunately there isn't a lot the doc can do, I have had a steroid injection and physio but I'm still in a lot of pain more so in the evening and night I'm getting very little sleep but I have been told it will get better with time.
I hope this might give you an idea to what it might be, good luck!

Ive had a few accidents over the years, plus used to cycle for miles n miles n miles when younger (had numb hands for hours even back then).
In 2008, I broke my wrist and as it recovered, I noticed I was getting pain consistently in 2 fingers specifically (little n ring finger) after much poking n pricing by the hand trauma team, they discovered I had CUBITAL tunnel syndrome. Thats not to be. Confused with carpel tunnel.... Different nerves in a different location.
Long story short, after 2 ops n several nerve tests discovered, im no better than before. I argue (and argued for ages) its in my neck (I had a bad trauma in 1992/93 where half a ton of rubble fell on my neck (another long story!)) MRI shows I have some pressure on some nerves but roots are ok in my neck (why can't MRI be done stood up, which is when our pain is the worst as that's when the load is at max.. .. Same with back)..
Im waiting to see specialist again for my neck, to see if they can do anything.
..... So basically, get seen by a specialist and get a nerve conduction survey done and they'll know a lot more about whats going on... Thats how they found out with me.
Hi I have the same as you I have just had the results from an MRI and it appears I have three compressed discs in my neck which cause severe numbness etc in my arms and now I'm being being referred to another neuro.

I have the same, really cold fingers, pain in the hand, numbing, pins and needles as well. I have arthritis in neck and shoulders, had MRI, then nerve conduction study. Found I have carpal tunnel, have to wear brace every night for 6-8 weeks, if not better by then, may have to have wrist operated on.
Yes that seems to be the suggestions I'm receiving thanx and I hope you don't need the op. Good luck anf5let me know how you get on
Hi , It sounds like a trapped nerve in your neck.I have not long recovered from this ( thank goodness!)It was the most painful thing , I first had symptoms in July last year , I attended physio for 7 months as well as strong pain killers. All in all i had it for 10 months.
