HIP PAIN

my husband has had intermittent pain in both his hips for some time - he is 55 - he does not walk with a limp so we have ruled out dodgy hips and it only seems to be when he is inactive for a certain amount of time ie. when he gets up in the morning or if he sits down to watch tv in the evening - recently he took cuprofen which has ibuprofen in it as he had a mouth abscess and during the time he was taking the pain killers his hips were fine - the pain has returned since he stopped taking pain killers - obviously he does not want to be on these for any length of time so i am just hoping someone may have heard of this type of thing and be able to help us

by the way he is an active 55 we go to the gym at least 3 times a week and walk the dog every day and during all of these activities there is no pain at all

thank you

linda

It could be a number of things. Referred pain from the spine. Bursitis. There is a diagnostic injection for this condition.

He really should speak with his GP who can refer him onwards

I was going to say bursitis, I’ve had steroid injections for it, they do help, but don’t always last long, get it checked though x
