There are neck braces and there are neck braces. A wrongly fitted neck brace can cause all sorts of problems. It is worth seeking the advice of a chiropractor.

I cannot advise on exercises to reduce hand pain. It is probably what you call referred pain. The problem is in the neck and the pain registers in the hand. Easy to say and very difficult to make sense of.

An Alexander Teacher can help.

They teach how faulty muscle control can cause all sorts of problems and help enable better muscle control.

The above specialists can give advice based on what they can see and examine. People on the forum cannot see and examine, In your case there are a number of different possibilities of what is the right thing to advise and possible damage if the wrong thing is advised.

Sorry I cannot advise you about the exercises you asked for. You need to avoid throwing frisbies until seen above mentioned specialists.

Another alternative to the Alexander Technique that many people find useful is osteopathy. Osteopaths undergo a similar BSc degree to physiotherapists, so evidenced based. They can help regain movement and balance in muscles and joints in a way that can compliment physiotherapy. My osteopath gets me in alinement and undoes all the muscle spasms, and my physio gives me exercises to keep it that way.

It sounds as if you have nerve problems in your cervical spine - possibly at C6/7. An MRI and nerve conduction test would be helpful and a consultation with a Neurosurgeon. Better to treat the problem rather than the symptoms.
