Check This Out Too : Carcinophobia: Fear of Cancer

People with carcinophobia or cancerophobia live with an irrational dread of developing cancer. Every bodily discomfort becomes a sign for them that they have a malignant growth somewhere inside. A headache, for instance, is a sign for them that they have a brain tumor. Cognitive therapy can help someone with carcinophobia regain control of their life.

You need to go to the doctor and get a throat culture and find out what is going on. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck!

My first thought is, go to your drs first thing tomorrow, drink lots of water to keep it moist and not dry.

If we did not have anxiety we would not bother to do things that require our attention. You are anxious about something so it needs to be checked. So see a doctor to get it checked.

Over anxiety is a problem. Emotions are felt in the body. My understanding is that the brain picks up something. The brain sends a message to the body. The body acts as a memory storage buffer to say you must look at this. The emotional state of the body is picked up by the brain which then accesses routines and memories for that particular emotional state and the subject matter that is the cause for that state.

However, the emotional state you feel is the result of emotional states that have been added upon. So the full blown anxiety may not be totally due the the subject you are concerned about. The stress level just happens to risen to the stress level that generates alarm bells.

Talking to a counsellor could make the situation much much worse, or you could find the situation helpful.

Anxiety is a breathing and posture and movement problem. The first international conference on fascia was at Harvard Medical School in 2007. Google "Thomas Myers". He has lots of interesting things to say.

Join a yoga class or a martial art class. You should find the activity helpful in handling your anxiety. This is because the mentioned activities will change your movement patterns and posture.

Finally, do seek medical advice and examination. You may be made to feel stupid by the doctor. The body picks up something is wrong a long time before an examining doctor can see the problem and make a diagnosis.

Hope I have been able to be helpful.

Took me about a year & a half to find out I had silent reflux I can barely swallow now =/ don't stress but don't ignore it either & if your GPS do that thing where they take a quick glance & say nowts up book a dental check up those guys are trained to spot mouth cancer and if you tell them your concerns I imagine they will be extra thourough if you get out the chair without them batting an eyelid I personally wouldn't worry too much but seriously don't ignore reflux either cos that shit can hurt =/ lol x

A voice from experience, some time ago I was given a drug for gout, I then developed pain in my throat. My Gp as precaution sent me to ear , nose & throat for a test which was negative I stopped taking the drug and things went back to normal. Gout drug can cause throat problems. Moral is don't presume anxiety is the cause, and remember anxiety is a good reason for a GP to be more cautious, about tracing the cause. So see your GP about your concerns

My first thought was 'silent' reflux. I had it for many years before they listened to me, and it turns out that the silent doesn't describe the reflux, it describes the patient's voice. I was telling them the symptoms, they were ignoring them and thought I was 'anxious'. Finally I figured it out while waiting for an appointment with ENT who confirmed it. Treatment has worked.

As others have said, anxiety has a purpose. Sometimes when people don't listen to us when we are anxious about something they can turn that anxiety into something unhelpful. Once you know what is causing the problem then you need to sit back, treat it, and stop thinking about it so that the anxiety goes away.

I experienced few days ago this terrible throat pain you are talking about... like hundreds of fish bones have stabbed my throat, but after two days disappeared completely. I had lots of lozenges and throat sprays...my husband and my son as well had this kind of pain before I had ...so I guess is a virus that acts like that.for my husband the recovery was slower like a week or so...hope that helps.:)

I have that feeling also I think it’s my heat and being stuck in the house well right now it’s 50*f just the other day it was-15*f I would go out on my porch but it’s supposed to pour. I might just go to the door and stick my head out just to breathe in the fresh air.
