Always worth asking for MR although that is often stays the same.

Remember though difference between DLA and PIP is...where DLA counted medical reasons into assessment...PIP is about how you manage daily tasks regardless of conditions.

I take it you have lost your car?

Standard rate

Certainly worth going to next stage but always remember...they can look at it and take all or part away. That is the fear factor DWP rely on.

Ah that throws a different matter on appeals. Over 65 is a mine field

So...if you were on higher rate mobility before changing to PIP and decide not to appeal....if after 12 months you decide your condition has worsened...the DWP won't award you the higher rate.

Hi Paula and Bananas

Just to say there’s a fantastic site called benefits and work where you can use their pip assessment calculator (anonymously) and it will tell you exactly what points you score yourself. I did hear that no one over 65 could get high rate mobility but that site should inform you better - all the best Scott

Thanks Scott. Yes B&W is the best and have been a member since its foundation!!!

Not quite trues about being over 65 and not getting higher rate mobility.....

If you are awarded either rate of the PIP mobility component before your 65th birthday or receive an award on reassessment from DLA to PIP, you continue to receive it beyond age 65.

If awarded the enhanced mobility component, it is only if your mobility needs reduce that you may move to the standard rate ( and back to the enhanced rate if your mobility needs increase again within a year).

Not what you're looking for?
