Hi All, I went into hospital last week for hip revision surgery and soft tissue repair. The cement from old hip replacement was cracked and bone fracture at top of femur and two tumours found. One was flesh the other bone. I'm home now and everything is ok so far. My husband bought me a rise and recline armchair which has helped so much with mobility and I only wish I had it first time around. I even sleep in it all night. Time will tell if operation is successful or not.

That’s great you managed to get comfy and sleep in the chair, I’ve got all my fingers crossed for you for a quick recovery x
One of the best bits of furniture we ever bought was David's riser recliner. One LA inn Scotland did issue them but they were pretty ghastly...plastic one size fits all.
So when we moved he bought his own and had it made to measure. Uncomfortable for me as my legs dangled but so comfy for him. Yes he manages very well to sleep in it too..often.
Bugger though when power cut and he can't get out!!

I didn't think about a power cut. I'll have to look at the instructions as I'm sure they must have an emergency button.
Do let me know!!

I've googled info on emergency back up battery on rise recline chairs and found it's not very helpful. Apparently most of the newer chairs have got one built in but there is nothing in my instructions that says it has it so I'll ring them tomorrow to find out. However you can purchase a back up battery unit from Amazon for £80 odd quid and shows you how to fit it via youtube. This gives you so many hours of use and is rechargeable. Some chairs use two fire alarm batteries for single emergency use but they don't say where to find it on the chair. If you call the company that you got David's chair from hopefully they can tell you more.
Interesting. For the amount he paid I would want a solid gold battery! One that hoovers, dusts and sweeps too!
This is the second chair we have had from same company and this one has all wires etc hidden inside. It squeaks terribly when he goes up but can't find anyone to service it here. Any chair engineer want a holiday? Ring Pat on....!!

Hi, I had a hip implant in 2012, I have fell twice and have Bursitis all the time. No doctor will take it out, still need to work but it is hard. I can hardly walk some days. I think there is something wrong with my implant but they keep telling me no. Good Luck with everything.
Hi Cindy did you have a total hip replacement? If your in pain you must keep going back to the doctor and ask him for referral to see a specialist. Ask for MRI to be done and tell them your not coping with the pain. If they're not listening then change to a different practice. Unfortunately you have to go on and on until they do something as it's not on when your trying to hold down a job as well. Don't give up and just except it. X
