hiya, did you get to sleep in the end? even when i take oramorph i dont go to sleep it keeps me awake if anything i dont find morphine based products help you sleep on their own. i have to take mine with my cocodamol and my slow releasing to try and get some sleep.

keep with it maybe you need to build it up a bit in your system, did your new doctor give you any advice for taking it?

I hope you did manage to get some sleep in the end x

Hey yes eventually I fell asleep used a heat patch and felt OK when I woke up. I take Amitripyline as well so should manage OK. Just got to wean myself of Tramodol slowly. I am starting on 10mg every four hours while I getting to pain clinic. Think I will need a laxative though I remembered that last time I was on Morphine I had to take them.

Hope your having a good day x

Taking results in constipation - a GP advised me to treat this with a combination of anti-constipation remedies, which I do, taking Sennacot, Laxidol, and Lactulose in small quantities, ( not all 3 on the same day), rather than just one of them in a larger dose.

Pain wise your system gets used to Morphine and so get tempted to use larger and larger quantities - try not not to do this.

More effective, but a lot more dangerous, are Fentanyl patches

Hi danmdan

Thanks for your reply I ordered some Sennacot as knew they make me constipated the last time I took them (over ten years ago)

I was thinking about the patches as my pain concentrates in one main area. I have a couple of weeks to think about it but any advice would be welcome. I just want a better quality of life and to be honest the pain at the level it was made me feel suicidal.
