I wonder if this could be temporary bruising from where the needle went in? Sometimes pain can radiate from the site of injury making it feel like it is coming from somewhere else. If that is the case then it may take more than four days to recover, it would be like recovering from a bruise. But if you are at all worried about it you should call the place where you had it done and ask to speak to someone who can reassure you if it is fine, or ask you to come in for a check if they feel it isn't okay.
Hi...thanks for responding...yes can understand about pain radiating to other places...now i'm sore on the hip joint...i think i have to be more patient with my body as the injection needs to do its work....I tried ringing for advice but line constantly busy....
i have called work to say i won't be in this week so hopefully this is enough time for healing...am feeling like a 'beached whale ' but will keep taking extra pain meds and hope to feel more positive as my mood is low...
Hi Bea61 I'm same as you, had mine done two weeks ago, hasn't helped at all but my abdominal pain turned out to be a urine infection (well there was blood in the urine) I'm very susceptible to urine infections esp when I get dehydrated, which I easily do, the last time being day of procedure, thought I might be first on list as diabetic type 2 but I wasnt done till 12, that's 5 hours without water, I find it so difficult. Then few days ago I felt unwell, noticed pinky tinge on toilet paper which was quite bad Monday morning and I had a hysterectomy 6 months ago. The wee sample of course showed blood but whether that is from bladder or kidneys or somewhere else I don't know although I do have a real urgency to go to the loo and felt unwell. Let me know how you get on over the coming days, I was warned it can get worse before it gets better xx
Hi Krawlins..sorry to hear you also have a urine infection on top of abdominal pain...must be awful....i'm still suffering with abdo pain and feel like a beached whale...have no appetite, low mood and think i staked on feeling so much better as its day 7. Did you have GA or local injection...i had the latter as was informed it would be more precise....but i had to tell the DR.twice to stop because it was so painful....am wondering if some nerve damage occurred😩
Speak to the person who did the injection. They will have come across this before, and will know the answer. My consultant always telephones me a few days after the injections to see how I am. Hopefully yours will do the same. X
Hi Morphalot...you have a very good consultant...I've NEVER been phoned after any op/procedure...Are you in the US? ...i did try the Pain Management helpline...line was busy so gave up....my abdo symptoms are not too bad today but can still feel slight numbness around injection site...not sure if this is good or bad...can't get hold of G.P. unless its urgent..
