AndrewPGeorge I know all about bladder infections every time I get one I get really sick go off my rocker have to go in hospital usually get pnomonia at same time. Maybe your not getting right antibiotic. My Dr does culture to find out what kind of infection so they can give me right antibiotic. Are you drinking plenty of water. I,d ask Dr if he,s giving you right antibiotics. I feel for you been there. susiejo1948

All my GPs doing is ask some questions and check witch antibiotics I have been taking and they give me a stronger to counter act it but is still no good for me.

Hi Andrew, I would keep going back to your GP and ask for a referral to a specialist or at least some other basic tests like X-ray of the bladder etc. It could become chronic otherwise. Good Luck.

What antibiotic have you been presribed?

Are you checking your temperature regularly? (remember to add 1 if taking underarm). If it rises a lot, I would go to A&E.

My husband needed Intravenous Antibiotics.

I’ve been to GP to get a checkup and he says he won’t give me any antibiotics until I’ve done a urine sample to find out the culture that is in my bladder.

And I’ve got to have it cleared by the end of this month as I’m having a operation on my bladder.

I don't understand why GP hasn't had urine tested before now?

If you collect and early morning sample and take in as soon as they open, (I assume GP gave you the form) then you should get the results within a couple of days. This will say what the infection is and what antibiotics it is sensitive to.

However, if you develop high fever, I would go to hospital. Or see GP as emergency/same day appointment and take another sample in to him.

Not what you're looking for?
