Right ovarian cyst pain

I have been diagnosed with ovarian cyst that have to gone away. I am 39y/o, 7 years ago I had a total hysterectomy, leaving my ovaries intact. Recently it was discovered my right ovary is on a steady track of growing. It is approximately 4 cm. Not big I know but I do have pain. Dr has given me the option to have them removed. My pain goes into my groin area, into my thigh, my hip and sometimes into my rear end. I also get what I think is referred pain up in my shoulder. I feel gassy a lot of the time also. Ibuprofen doesn't seem to help much so I don't bother taking any. The pain comes and goes. I felt fine for 3 weeks, then these party 4 weeks have been more consistent. How long do you deal with this until you finally decided enough is enough?? I'm going back this week because I reported additional pain to my Dr so I'm having another ultrasound done to see where it stands now.

One more thing, this week I have also developed a new pain that I don't know is related to the cyst. Right side, below ribs and into my back. Pain comes on all of a sudden and makes me feel really nauseous, hot, sweaty. Within a few minutes, it goes away just as sudden as it came. I don't know if this is bowel related or what. Any ideas?

I wonder if the extra pain could be caused by muscle spasms? If you are holding yourself differently due to the pain, it might be putting more strain on those muscles. There are a lot of muscles that circle the abdomen and hook up at the back of the spine.

I hope you have some luck with the dr this week when you go back.

I had ovarian cysts... per gynecologist, the pain was triggered by ovulation. When ovulation occurred on the other side, no pain. Ovulation isn't always every other month per ovary. I don't know if it's any help, but perhaps you can pinpoint when it may come. Good luck!
