I have been with mild back pain in the lumber region for a few weeks now but last saturday i started getting numbness in my toes and base of my foot with an increase of pain in the centre of my back. The doctor has prescribed codeine phosphate along with paracetomols but I'm in agony every morning now when i go and walk my dogs and its only when i get back that the pain eases but the mobility of my right leg is not as it should be. HELP

It sounds similar to what happened to me. My GP gave me gabapentin to take and sent a letter to pain clinic for a MRI. She told me she was writing the letter then and there as it takes approx 6 weeks to get an appointment through and no one would see me before that 6 week period was up. The pain consultant told me what was wrong with me as I walked through the door but had to have a MRI to confirm it.

Urgent!! . get treatment for back pan as soon as you can or it will turn into cronic back pain, -you have it for ever. pills just mask it, you need diagnosis then treatment, If it costs to go private to get diognosis, that is still cheap compared to a lifetime pain......
