its a bit on the high side. normal blood pressure is 120/80 i suffer from blood pressure spikes and it can go quite high especially if one is in pain or nervouse and its possible to be nervouse without really knowing it. its called white coat. when you see the doctor taking your blood pressure it goes up. many factros are possible for rises in blood pressure. do you take your own blood pressure? if your worreid about your blood pressure i would see your doctor as they need to do tests to find out if its high all the time or if its just on occasion. love grace xoxoxo

Hi I am on my 60's with good blood pressure and mine is usually around 140/80. Yours does sound a bit high so I think you should get it checked out just in case.

More than 120 over 80 and less than 140 over 90 (120/80-140/90): You have a normal blood pressure reading but it is a little higher than it should be, and you should try to lower it. Make healthy changes to your lifestyle.

wishing you well Newman keep in touch and iv added that chart to let you see it. I dont drink or smoke either and i had to wear a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours as my blood pressure was very high for a while and when i wore the monitor it worked out at 142/.80 not high enough for blood pressure tablets. does the doctor know about your blood pressure? thats what i had and it takes your blood pressure every 5 minutes or something like that. even when your asleep. i hope it works out in your favour. its great that your doing something about it, i will be back to see how you get on. love grace. xoxoxo

sorry i missed this post john i fell asleep.yes i looked at your profile and saw that your only 29 years old and that you'd had 3 strokes i felt so sad for you being so young too and this happening to you. and also that your pain relief is not working now. there is an app called insight timer that you can download with many apps for meditation and more its free. its very good i use some of the body scans for relaxation. i just hope that your having a good sleep and that the blood pressure monitor does not keep you awake as it goes on all night. i will see how you get on and i wish you well sending you all my love and hugs. grace xoxoxo

It is quite high on the top number and a little on the bottom. Mine is high too, although the bottom number in my case is the issue. I have a monitor at home to test when I'm more relaxed every so often. I'm borderline for meds so trying to get fitter and eat better - I wasn't that bad to start but hitting my 30s I have to try harder. Sometimes it doesn't matter what you do you and you will just have high blood pressure - if no meds are given after monitoring you will be checked periodically and offered them if it goes up. High blood pressure is a big risk factor, it's pretty scary.

Hi iv got the 24 hr monitor on get it took off to day and I get the results to day but iv had 3 strokes

Your young to be having these issues. Do you have a family history of higher cholesterol ?

Meantime, if this is a reading you have had off the monitor, bearing in mind that it's the' weekend' would you just double check with your GP practice and if need speak to the on-call if your own GP is not available? I don't want you to go into a crisis if they can act. They are your health-care managers?

Iv got spinal damage any way so they don't know what's going on at the minute with the tingly waste down wards no history of higher cholesterol in the family they are doing blood tests at the minute

Yea got to what till Monday for the tablets my liver is slightly raised as well so I'm fed up

sorry to hear this. Do they have any idea what is causing your liver funtion test to be off.? please try and relax.Is there anything at all that you enjoy doing as its not nice sitting worrying and doing things that we enjoy can relax us. im thinking of you john, love grace xoxo
