Sounds like a touch of arthritis have you tried the hot and cold method put heat on your fingers then alternate with something frozen keep doing that it shocks the nerves and eases the pain.if no help consult GP.
Hope it helps.x
Dear loustew2012 (hey great name!),
This could be linked to Diabetes and it could be arthritis. Can I ask you for a little more detail please? Did this 'come on' suddenly? If so has it 'locked' one, or two fingers?-if so do the tendons feel tight? Sorry for all the questions, it's just that I think you might have Rheumatoid Arthritis. This condition IS auto-immune related....If you see what I'm driving at? The only 'thing' that's worrying me is the length of time, that you have been suffering an 'attack'. Normally, any I get, last a few hours and, tend to, respond to gentle massage.
All this said- yes try the 'Hot & Cold', by all means, but if it doesn't offer relief, or it recurs regularly, then see your GP/Doctors.
I am sending you my warmest wishes loustew, and still love the name.
Kindest regards
AndrewT
Thank you Andrew..... yeah came on Friday evening I noticed when I put my hand down to get up from my couch the pain as soon as I sat it down was horrible. It's on middle 3 fingers next to thumb on right hand is the sorest. When I straighten them that also the tightest feeling one. I've hand my hands in hot and cold water all day cleaning etc. As it's my right hand and have had issues for years with it I do everything with it. But it's now painful even lifting a kettle. I'm handing a sample for a diabetes check in the morning I'll make a appointment to check. I was going to get husband to take me to a&e cos it felt like I broken it but haven't really done anything that that could happen.
Glad you like my username lol x
You must see the GP. You have not said if you have hurt your hand or this has come out of the blue.
is this all day or just when you get up?
The GP should be able to do an examination and make a referral to a specialist. Referral takes a long time so the sooner you see the GP the sooner you see a specialist should you need it.
UPDATE: so I saw my GP today and he checked my notes from 7 years ago. seems no one done a followup on my issues I had years ago, they said I showed signs to too much anxiety during the nerve conduction test that they just abandoned everything, I assumed they didn't find anything. so going back to today, ive to get full blood screen done if nothing comes back on that ill get a referral to a neurologist. but for the moment ive been given amitriptyline as he thinks it may be due to stress plus with being diabetic with a thyroid issue also it doesn't help didn't make it better when he said my bloods were a mess.... jeez give me time ive only been diagnosed a couple of months ago lol . he also has sights on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome which was ruled out years ago........
