Sorry, this is a repeat, but peripheral neuropathy has been a popular topic recently. I get some relief from Metanx, a prescription medical food based on B vitamins and folate. You can Google it. NOT addictive and has medical research.
Burning feet: Sorry, this is a repeat, but... - Pain Concern
Burning feet
My do tor recommended it and wrote the script and then I found out it wasn't covered by my insurance. It was like $100 plus but they had a program that dropped it to $60 a month. My doctor said if he was in my situation it would be his first choice of meds because it can help regrowth of nerves. It is a bunch of vitamins and etc...., but it is the form they are in that makes it special. The body can use them quicker and efficiently. I wish there was a compound version. But I heat a lot of positive feedback from users.
thanks for your summary. It costs me $60/month without any discount, but worth it. I have tried several times to cut the dose in half, but the pain increases quickly. Important to note that it may take weeks to take full effect, you do not notice any immediate changes.
I went to gp yesterday and they said it is arthiritis. No pain relief given though. He said it is a flare up of arthritis in ankle and foot. I rang back today for pain relief advise so waiting of a call back. Thank you for your help

Burning feet are nerve damage happening common causes diabetes or vitamin b12 deficiency which is rarely diagnosed as drs are not taught nutrition or vitamin deficiency symptoms .It took me 15 drs including 7 specialists who didn't have a clue to obtain a diagnosis from a holistic Gp 6 mths later..MY SERUM B12 WAS 290 but was ignored as in norm range .My feet were painful for 3mths I saw physio & chiropodists with no help. Then they went numb peripheral neuropathy .My advice ask dr for active Vit b12 folate, ferritin ,iron,Vit D,MMA, levels.
Thanks for your informative response giving me ideas. My levels are OK and I take Metanx which covers the B vitamins and folate. Good luck on your health
That's very kind, thankyou so much,I hope you have a great healthier new year x
Hi, I thought Matanx was just for those with diabetic neuropathy? does it have an effect if you have neuropathy not caused by diabetes?
thank you for sharing your post,
I think the formal study from Tulane University focused on diabetic neuropathy. But as with many medications, Metanx may be useful for other disorders. There are other causes of neuropathy, such as side-effects of cancer treatment, HIV, toxic chemicals, etc.
