Burning soles of feet
Have you got back problems as damaged nerves can cause burning feet. I would definitely go to your doctor to get checked out.
Thanks for this - never heard it before. I do have stress-related dermatitis on my feet (& sometimes legs ) & use cortisone cream. But for years I've had burning on my feet - & back problems. I tried aloe vera, which eases it a little. I wonder if a soak in water & bicarb might help... Anyway so good to be enlightened that it could be down to my back. xx
I do not like taking medication but I have been prescribed 10mg amitriptyline for the nerve endings which does help. My feet burn and feel numb and I had an MRI scan which showed two crushed nerves in the lower back. I have an appointment with a physio in two weeks but I will probably just be given exercises to do. I put my feet in cold water with a small amount of Epsom salts for about ten minutes and then rub Hemp Active Gel (manufactured by 5Kind Clinical Skincare) on them which does help. Hope this helps xx
Thank you everybody for your tips. I am taking Amytriptalene and had a B12 injection a few days ago which seems to be helping, I will let youy all know what happens.
I have burning tingling feet. Have also turned painful now after walking so far, as if I'm walking on glass or pebbles.
I'm not saying your diagnosis is same as mine but mine is caused by Periferel Neuropathy, nerve damage in my feet from having an undiagnosed vitamin B12 deficiency for some time.
Hi there, I don't have a diagnosed condition but like you, this drives me nuts and keeps me awake. I also suffer during the day at times. My chiropodist suggested I keep a spray bottle filled with surgical spirits at work and another at home and when this bothers me, spray my feet generously. This isn't expensive if you buy it at a salon wholesaler by the gallon but to buy from the chemist in small amounts can top up. You don't need to remove socks or tights before spraying but obviously don't over do it if you have these on, as it will saturate the fabric, just spray little and often. Believe it or not, t does help to keep your feet cooler and not itch or irritate or swell. For me, it was good advice, hope it works for you too.
Hi there.
I have had chronic foot pain for 20 years. I take Imipramine, another old style anti-depressant used for pain relief. It is excellent for my burning pain. Worth a pain clinic referral.
Best wishes Bob
Ugh.I have diagnosed DDD Fibro and Arthritis. For the past 4 years i`ve had the worst burning in my feet ,beginning in my heels ,like being stabbed with boiling needles!Hurts like crazy ,and spreads to my instep ,and i find walking impossible.Dr just says it`s a side effect of fibro. Is it? This will wake me up during the night ,and last for up to 3/4 hours.NOTHING so far has helped.Sorry you`re suffering too ,as i know how bad this feels.x
