Sharp pain in head
It would be worth a visit to your GP to check Bp & neuro signs. It maybe neuralgia pain caused by low Vitamin B12 .Do you have any other symptons like memory loss, tingling, numbness, pins & needles, irritable bowel, falls.hearing loss.?
I've been getting exactly the same thing. It seems to be linked to stress in my case at least, but yes, you should probably ask your doctor x
Hi,
I get a similar pain, mine is linked to neuralgia & migraine. As the others have said, you should always check with your GP.
I would also add that while it is a scary pain to experience, stress can often make such pain worse (or seem worse). Difficult though it is, try to remain calm until you see your GP. Then you can freak out (just kidding!). Do get it checked out.
Take care, Catherine.
They're called cluster headaches. I've had them for about 10 years now. They are such a short sharp pain and Only last for a few seconds but they stop you in your tracks and you have to wait till it passes. Only women get them and they only affect one side of your head. They are part of migraine family. I had a head scan and they gave me some pills but they didn't help so just stick to pain killers. It has a proper name. Factual hemi crainea or something like that. See your doc for diagnosis though. Good luck. I'm here if you need to talk
Best see a Doctor, I get sharp pains in my head but a lot less now they couldn't be sure if it was to do with my Diabetes, Osteoarthritis in my neck or side effect of my medication. At one point they thought I had a stroke so I had scan of my brain but did not find anything wrong. They found I had a rather nasty virus.
As with any new symptoms you should get them checked out by your GP. Try to see the same one each time. I go with my list which I date and write what is happening to me currently (ongoing) and what is new. If you are unable to deal with all in one apt, keep the list and go back with it. It also acts as a record you can keep to look back on. This is especially useful if you are still waiting on a proper diagnosis.
I get these random stabbing pains all over. I was tested for B12 deficiency amongst other things. It is neuralgia and probably linked to my Fibro. I now have meds to relieve pain. Not taken them long enough to know if they work yet. 😀
Hi I also get these on the left side of my head which also affects my left eye - I agree with pain_away - but do go to your GP and get it checked out - as I am going to take pain_aways advice and keep a note of when it happens.
