I have been feeling really poorly since June and have been going to my doctor almost every week with my concerns. I have really bad heads not so much pain but more like pressure with really bad dizziness and balance issues they have now prescribed amitriptyline for 28 days to see if this helps do you think it will?

Hi.

I have been on Amytriptline since my Stroke in 1998 after my Stroke.

Since then I am now on max dose, to date it has worked very well.

Mind you I am on max doses off all of my meds.

Please contact me if I can help you further ???

Steve.

Hi

sorry to muscle in, would you be kind enough to tell me what dose you are on/ I am taking 25 mg (for about 8 months now)for PHN, pain a lot better but still got itch. the main reason I'm hoping to be allowed to stay on it, is it really helps with sleep. as a lifelong insomniac I think it's a miracle. Is it alright tobe on the drug long term?

Hi.

Don't be sorry that's what I'm here for.

I'm on max dose 150mg per night.

I have been on & off them since 1998.

They are great for sleeping, mind you if I take them to soon bang I'm "gone"

I think like all drugs they do become addictive.

I was in hospital a few years ago now & I was taken off my Tramodol Tablets instantly. Boy did I "hit the roof"

They then put me on the full dose instantly & I was dropped to the eye balls.

I hope this helps

Steve.

Thanks for reply, the sleeping issue is what is proving the addiction for me, it's just marvellous to know close eyes and away! yes have to be careful not to take too early

Enjoy your day
