Piriformis and Pudendal nerve pain

Can piriformis be damaged by deep tissue massage and dry needling as I had very bad pain after getting this done a year ago, I had Pudendal nerve pain before this and had tingling in my foot but not in piriformis. Now have a numb feeling there like the muscle has become weak, have pain in buttock and leg when exercising and my foot burns a lot when I exercise or walk. Also have pain now in my right hip as my right side is taking all the pressure.

I would say your Pudendal nerve pain might be back because a deep tissue massage a year ago would most likely not cause issues now.

I didn't have pain in the piriformis before the massage and dry needling, now it is painful and feels swollen and tight, the Pudendal pain was more the inner thigh, Lower buttock, Groin area and back of leg, it is not as bad as it was but still there. I had an mri of my back and nothing came up, i sometimes have lower back pain.

Sorry I misread. I guess anything is possible....they must be brutal at massaging!

I have similar pain to you except for the foot. Has it gotten any better?

Pain is a bugger, whether pudendal, piriformis or proliferating! My sciatic pain has led on to far more and worse! Check in with a physio or similar to get a diagnosis? (Docs are not great on muscle groups). As a Bowen therapist I used to help with sciatic and piriformis pain..... like magic! TIMbowPSP
