Go for the replacement! You will not regret it. At least , that is what anyone who has had it done says. And wishes they had done it at the first hint of trouble.

Not the same for the knee unfortunately.

What are your concerns? Are you obese or a smoker? Bad heart?

Go for it.

Hello I just had a half knee replacement a week ago and touch wood it went well and on one stick already

Basically the groin pain started about 13 weeks ago and x Ray didn't show much but Mri did thankfully they did the Mri pretty quick as was having knee op and while I was in hospital they put a steroid injection into hip joint but they said if it didn't work the chances are it's not the hip but I am convinced it is from people have spoke to!

Hip pain only in groin and down leg and it's definitely better than before but can still feel it a bit

I don't want steroids and really hope they do the replacement soon I am 60 next week and I know this is relatively young but always had knee problems due to loads of sport etc

Still bowling very competively (obviously not this year) as pain too excruciating but was just wondering what other people thought! Not obese thankfully

Thank you for reply

I had a THR 2 years ago and am waiting for my next one, this got complicated by a spinal problem but now that's (sort of) sorted I need my next THR. Living the dream. Like you, I'm comparatively young (the ortho ward is the only place I keep hearing 'you're young' these days!), mine was caused by a lot of high impact sport and bad luck.

It sounds as if you're healthy so your recovery should be good - all the best and keep us informed. I don't get on here much due to work being insanely busy but I do drop in from time to time and like to read even if I don't get a chance to reply.

It could be referred pain from low back injury or wear n tear of low back. I get groin pain and tight, burning thigh pain caused through fractured vertebrae low back area.
