Sharp pain: I have been getting sharp stabbing... - Pain Concern
Sharp pain
Sounds like it could be an OCCIPTAL headache. I have it on both sides and the only help for that part has been OCCIPTAL blocks by my pain Doctor. It works great but only lasts 6-8 weeks then you have to repeat it. But it is worth it for the relief.
Hope this helps.
I get it in both sides now and it is bloody sore; Does yours go down into your face (behind ear and jaw) and do you have pain in between your shoulders and down your arms and into your hands, if so you should get help as it can get worse and more painful than you can know.
So I suggest you get a scan, and don't move, (it drives me mad in there) in the MRI as in my case they said I moved, and second time they said I moved, I begged for a third scan, and it went fine, and I never found out the result, but I do not need the Doctors Validation as I know myself most of what is going on in my own body now and have for a long time.
Once they tell you, you then can manage it quicker if you know what terms to look up because finding ways to keep your muscles in order is a must, if you are to cope better
If you have theses same things going on then keeping your elbow i as that helps the neck, because stopping or delaying the pain is the most you can hope for, but that knowledge helps you plan your day better, best wishes

Generally my condition and medications make me feel woozy and I get dizziness caused by neck problems. I also get pain in my temples around to my ears this with me is pains transmitted from various other joints around the jaw etc.
This problem you have, is not unusual, although if the pain is persistent you will need to see your GP. We are unable to advise, I bow to your GP.
When was the last time you had your Eyes checked ??. Are you getting any earache ?.
Could you be suffering stress or is it when you go out at night in the cold ?
If the pain transmits down the jaw it may be dental, sometimes caused after extractions etc the jaw is not supported and you may need fillings replaced or a denture to support the jaw. Sometimes it can be Occipital as mentioned above.
I have small joint arthritis in my jaw and the pain transmits around the jaw, ear and temple. You really need to chat with your GP, pain around that area can be a real pain. Sorry.

Ask your go to test you for polymyalgia or temporal arteritis. It's a condition mostly affecting women over 50 and is massively under diagnosed by GPs. Lots of info and support on the web. If it is temporal arteritis you need treatment urgently.
