I highly recommend seeking out a Chiropractor, rather than taking medication (which is best used in a short-term fashion, while healing the underlying injury.) I hope this might give you some hope of real healing, and cheer you up.

As an example of what it can do - I myself have had a pain in my shoulder and arm that I've been healing with Chiropractic care as the primary intervention. My shoulder and arm pain is due to a problem with muscles contracting when they shouldn't, shutting off the sensation and nerve control to my arm - of course, you'll need to be properly screened by the Chiropractor to determine what is happening in your case.

Best Wishes!

I sympathise with you in relation to your shoulder pain, it indicates that you have arthritis, and really, there is no cure. Some painkillers may ease the pain, try and do some shoulder exercise.

I think there could be lots of reasons for this pain. I don't think you should be making a"diagnosis" like that josephantoine. Also the wrong exercise might make it worse. Advice should be from someone who has seen the way you move your arm and where and when the pain comes.

I did not diagnosis your symptoms, I write from my own experience and I do find that exercising my shoulder helps elevate the pain.

It's not necessarily arthritis! No one can diagnose unless they examine you and are properly qualified! Don't take any notice of the above post!

My advice is to get a definite diagnosis. Possibly an ultrasound test to see if they can find a cause. Mine was the result of an accident, but earlier I did have a shoulder cuff injury. Neither helped by any pain relief so started on exercises, led by physio. Shoulders and ankle's are very complex joints and so a diagnosis is essential. Injections are often offered and to be honest in my experience they are not the remedy, to find the cause and let the shoulder heal is best.

have you seen your gp. they could organize physio, steroid injection to the joint. I had the same problem in 2004, gp tried physio and injections. I finally had surgery on it in 2007. good luck x

Please get a gp opinion.

I started with shoulder pain which I thought could be Arthritis or sprain ..Ended up brachial nerve damage s.l.a.p. tear, rotator cuff and CRPS set in due to being given wrong exercises and believe me you do Not want that to happen to you.

An X-ray,ultrasound or MRI will give you the best idea.

Look up the above shoulder problems and see why I suggest you get professional advice.

Don't mean to sound doom and gloom just think it best in the long term.

First, you should go see doc and have X-Ray of shoulder . It could be pinched nerve , it could be bursitis, it could be a multitude of things. You need professional to diagnose your problem before trying treatments that may make your shoulder worse . 😘

If in pain simple paracetamol and ibuprofen check with a pharmacist first ensuring you are able to take them.

You need an assessment from your GP , they will assess your injury and give you the right information to move forward. What ever that treatment may be.

see your Gp. If you are approaching 50 to 60 it could be a sign of a damaged tendon. An MRI scan would determine this.

It also could be a pinched nerve root in the neck. This is chiropractor territory.

Hope this has been helpful.
