Love your birdie!!! the other thing that annoys people is a smiling face when they may think you have nothing to smile about - prove them wrong and smile anyway. Or as I say - I'm just exercising my face 'cos I don't want a droopy mouth in my old age.

Absolutely understand - lacking energy myself - Had a head cold for a few days, recovered and now chest infection for 2 weeks. Joints aching from lack of activity, feel cold all the time, and generally pants. Everything is an effort.

I have often wondered what keeps us going - is it just determination, or the feeling of failure, or just instinct kicking in?

hang in there - positivity creates positivity.

There are times in my day when i have nagging burning pains… but some of my day and maybe a whole pain free day i just kinda wallow in that and be joyful. It irritating when people say 'You look so Well' are you better? . Its so hard to answer cos... No not bloody well better… I just did up my face and hair and wearing good clothes. and smiling … But NO not better yet.

determination and stubbornness and stoicism. I guess

So acknowledge the good bits of your day, and then smile with gritted teeth. The brain like this apparently!

Yes, you can trick the brain into believing anything.

I do alot of meditation with positive reinforcement - you tube is full of them. I found a great one which numbs your pain. Lasted 3 hours!

Apparently in Italy they use meditation as anaesthetic for operations and this was one of the ones they use. Not sure I'd trust myself to get totally numb for an op though.

I'll try and get the link and post it up seperately.

It's called hypnosis - pain eraser on you tube by trigram healing. Can't seem to get the link to post it up here.

How true.

And smiling really is good for us.

Instinct I reckon.

Hope you are feeling a bit brighter.

The word pants made me smile.

It brought back a long forgotten memory.

Thanks.

Thanks Zanna… I will try it. The brain has a lot to answer for. Pain centres dwell there. if only we could unlock the mysterious door to these centres and switch them off.

in reply to Elliot43

You can. But you need a very experienced meditation teacher, and a lot of patience to learn the technique.

In China they can switch off troublesome periods and restart them when the woman wants to try for a baby.

So I suppose they can do anything once the right bit of the brain is tuned into.

That meditation - pain eraser - can work. It may take a few goes, especially if your thoughts are jumping about and not focusing on it. It takes time to learn to quieten thoughts, and there are other meditations that can help with that too.

Some buttons are easier to push than others. Mine are very sensitive when they haven't had enough sleep.
