Try closing your mouth, pinching your nose and blowing at the same time. You may feel your ears popping. Swallow if it feels strange as this may clear it further.

Failing that, try looking online at something like NHS Direct or NHS Choices as they have good advice.

Hi there, I suffer from the same thing from time to time, yawning is a good one to open the tubes, if all else fails I usually try a simple decongestant like sudafed for a couple of days, I find the tablets better than the nose drops or spray. It is really annoying when it happens but it usually only lasts a few days. If it continues for a week or more consult your GP I know someone who takes steroid nose spray for Rhinitis this unblocks the the tubes well. You have my sympathies it is really frustrating.

Yes, teadrinker's comment is good - it's called the Valsalva manoeuvre. However, drops help a lot, as do twice-daily inhalations, with or without menthol, olbas oil or similar, as the nose and ears are so closely connected.
