Yes - works well for about a year.

The nerves grow back again.

You need a good anaesthetist to guide the injection.

I'm on combined 35mg fentanyl patch and 600 gaba. It took 3 years to get to a level where I'm in moderate pain

I’m assuming you have insurance just because they are following the same “protocol “ in order to appease the insurance company.

My firm belief is we are our own advocate! Read as much as possible on here and o highly suggest Reddit and go into your appointments with questions and a list of tests or questions about why they suggest certain tests, meds etc. Amitriptalyn makes me sleepy which of course helps sleeping with the pain but doesn’t address the pain. Insist they treat the illness not the symptoms.

The doctors anymore are bought and paid for by big pharma to be legal drug dealers. I started using something as simple as vitamins B12, D3 and Magnesium (I do have to monitor my levels of B12 with bloodwork but I honestly feel better with less meds. I don’t buy the opioids epidemic it was brought about by Richard Saklee look at him and his connections to the people who were involved, just follow the 💸💸💸 is my saying and it is the truth.

Hi . They use special needles and locate the nerves and burn them using radio frequency. Lasts about a year. But my pain management consultant didn't think it would work for me.

I had a nerve ablation on my back last year in December . I was having lower back, hip and leg pain on my right side. Over the previous year and a half, I had 3 epidurals, which worked pretty well. The last epidural lasted about 2 months. Then the doctor that gave them to me wanted to try the ablation. The day before the ablation, I awoke with my first terrible pain from PMR. Same thing the day of ablation. The ablation worked well, even getting rid of my PMR pain for about 2 weeks. Then the PMR pain came back, which of course had to be treated with prednisone. So far the ablation has worked for my hip and leg pain, but I’m still having pain in my lower back. I’m not sure at this point if that is coming from my back or PMR. But I will have another ablation if the hip and leg pain comes back. Good luck, and I hope an ablation will help you. It at least got rid of some of my pain!

On september 2023 I had a procedure called subcutaneous radiofrequency rootectomy in which nerve roots coming out from lumbar vertebrae are burnt to reduce sensitivity. So far pain has gone completely. This should last about 2 years. It really works.

Amitrptyline made my gut do strange things. I now have Nortriptyline which works better for me. I'm not saying it'll work for you too, but maybe there's an alternative that you could try first.

yes, I have them twice a year at a pain clinic. Sometimes they work well and last longer, other times they are very little help.

I take Norotriptylene at night and 60mg Ibuforen with paracetamol in the day.

I've been doing a lot of study on chronic pain and ultimately conventional therapies rarely if ever work for the long term. I recommend checking out books by Dr. John Sarno who was a maverick in healing chronic pain. There are also dozens of other similar books, as well as videos and podcasts- The Cure for Chronic Pain has tons.
