Well I am due to start my first session of chemo on wednesday and I have come out with a cold. I rang the oncologist yesterday and she told me just to turn up as normal and they will assess me on the day..........I hope it does not get put back, I was just about getting my head round it.

Got a cold!!!
Dear Sammy
I had a similar experience just before starting chemotherapy. I came out in a rash all over my body. I rang the hospital and they said to come in. I ended up having my chemotherapy as planned.
Horrible time for you but hold on to the good news that it's been caught early and hopefully the surgery and chemotherapy will see an end to your worries.
Take care. We're here to give you a cyber hug and reassure you.

Hi Sammy
Just wanted to wish you all the best.......a lot can get better before Wednesday. Hope so! If you can get any, try taking echinacea, a herbal cure, which I find really good at seeing off the symptoms of colds. It won't do any harm, anyway.
Hope the news is good on Wednesday, but if not, another chemo slot will be scheduled and will soon come around.
Just wanted to say, "hang on in there" and send a cyberhug to you (((xxx)))

Hi Sammy,
I find lots of vitamin C in the form of fresh fruit and veg helps with cold symptoms, Take care and hopefully you may be ok for Wednesday, if not as Wendy says they will re-schedule soon after. I found that Chemo is not really as bad as the anxious wait for it to start, hopefully it will be the same for you,
take care and let us know how you get on

Hi Sammy,
Just to say I am thinking of you, and sending best wishes for Wednesday love x G x
Hi Sammy I hope you feel better soon, I had a cold before chemo no 5 and it went ahead as normal, the medics tend to go by your blood results and how you feel in yourself rather than just the fact that you have a cold. Rest, drink plenty of fluids to wash out the little basket and up your vitamin C.
Big hugs Amanda xxx
Hi Sammy.
Hope the cold goes by wednesday. I agree with Jan its the build up to having the chemo that is worse. Once its all up and running its much better. I finished chemo in Jan my 6 sessions flew by. You will soon get there. Keep smiling and chin up.
Good luck
