I was on Carboplatin, Avastin and Zem, but I got an allergic reaction from Carboplatin. My oncologist told me he will replace Carboplatin with Cisplarin for my 5 session.
I am wondering if someone has been on Cisplatin and what’s yours experience with Cisplatin?

Cisplatin is an effective drug but takes lots longer to infuse. It was an overnight stay when I had it but these days I believe it's done on the day ward though you will need two pumps and you get bags of fluid before and after. Nausea was the big issue for me but with the latest anti-sickness meds, i believe it is much more manageable.
Sorry, ! Yes its still IV. Pumps are the normal machines on stands that deliver the drugs. Usually we have one but I believe when you're getting cisplatin you have two, one for the drug and one for the fluids.
hi, I have just finished 6 rounds of cisplatin, I was mostly ok and had no sickness. The only symptoms I had were constipation and light headedness where at times I was quite dizzy. It wore off after a couple of days, but overall I was ok, and was just a day patient, no overnight stay needed. Hope that helps 🤔
I’m allergic to carboplatin and having it through a desensitization protocol. It takes many hours and many premeds but you might ask your oncologist whether that’s an option.
