hi had a ultrasound on my abdomen in November 22 as had a a lot of pain in belly and low pelvic area, also blood wiped from bowel end, also had bloating & urgency to run and pee and a lot of pelvic pain spreading all over my belly, just got constant water bottle on it to help ease the pain, but still awaiting my gynaecologist apointment after referral being made in Jan 23. Backlog sill going on. And Pain been ongoing since October 22 and not easing off.

I’m now anaemic and low in folate so investigations have started, had stool sample as FIT test and doctor sent away to test, fit test came back positive and stool test came back as abnormal but slightly lower than having Ibd , Imflamatory bowel disease eg colitis chrons ect so Iv now been referred back via 2ww pathway to see if can find cause of anaemia. But not sure going forward what they will look for as Iv already recently had a colonoscopy and sigmoid which both were normal after a bowel haemorrhage over 3 days and pain.

Has Anyone heard of or been treated for the simple cyst or cystic endometrium please just so I have an idea what it could be tia xx

Possibly good idea to do a CT scan with contrast it may pick up what’s going on also ask for ca125 it’s a marker for inflammation but also ovarian cancer.

Your gp could do a ca125 blood test and also my gp referred me to a and e to have the CT scan which indicated likely ovarian cancer they fully diagnosed it with biopsy under CT on a different day. I’m not saying you have this but worth ruling out also ct scan could maybe pick up anything else. Wishing you well and keep pushing for answers X

Hi Nat107

Sorry to hear that you’re finding it hard to get to the bottom of what’s causing your symptoms and the delay in seeing a gynaecologist. Many of us on this forum had to convince our GP that we did not have IBS or similar.

I’ll echo what Heart12345 said. Push for an abdominal CT scan with contrast, ask for a CA —125 blood test, stress the need for an urgent gynaecologist appointment. If in severe pain or if nothing has happened within your 2 week urgent referral period consider going to A & E. I went to A & E where, bizarrely, I was booked in for a kidney and scan the next day. Possibly because these were available. The results of those somehow led to me seeing a gynaecological surgeon the same weekend with abdominal CT scan with contrast arranged for the following week.

It really is unacceptable to wait nearly a year to see a gynaecologist when you are in pain.

Thank you for reply, I have had ibs for many years and find usually they tend to put everything down to that including the first bleed from bowel in October which started this all off with the pain. Leading to ultrasound, and seeing cyst on ovary and cystic womb but said blood was my ibs, which I knew it wasn’t it. Followed by excruciating pain and bowel haemorage in April which def wasn’t. Ibs.

When I speak to someone in next 2 weeks I will ask can I have a ct with contrast as no reason to do any ore colonoscopy with having one in May and few weeks ago. Really awful waiting so long to get an apointment for gyny, no chance for anyone who has got cancer x

I was fast-tracked for surgery because of my scans showing a high risk of cancer. The current wait for a non-cancer related hysterectomy at my local hospital is over a year. This is terrible for the many women suffering abdominal pain plus the urinary symptoms, back pain, bloating, nausea, bowel and digestive issues associated with many gynae disorders.

Thank you very much Lesley, I have been looking at lots of information on their website and reading the horror stories of every lady who were either told ibs or misdiagnosed absolutely appalling it is. I have had IBS for 38 years, and more recently resigned again as IBS after all scopes I have had. I wil update once Iv had my consultancy and take it from there I think. But I def think my prob coukd be Gyny even with the bowel bleed as I have done an extensive search on ovarian cancer and bleeding from the bowel and apparently it can happen if the bowel gets blocked due to Ovarian cancer, not that I’m saying have this or anything as bad, it’s just the fact no one doctor nor gastroenterologist has picked up any slight but not Impossible link between the simple ovary cyst and the cystic echotexture of endometrium I was seen to have when I had the internal and abdominal ultrasounds. As Iv read that you can get bowel bleeding with bowel blockage caused by ovarian cancer. Just slapped me down when I mentioned could it have anything to do with the gynaecological problem, no as it’s different way out for the bleeding they say, which I know but what if something was xxx pressing on the bowel wall I was thinking but what do I know they must think xx
