I just moved to London and I still have no GP, no doctor, no clinic to go to.
I have ovarian cancer and I am doing chemotherapy now in Istanbul, I flew there and I did my 5th this Friday. Now I am supposed to put 2 injections Neupogen and I cannot do it alone, as I am afraid.
Can you help me with information where I can go to put the injections, who can do this for me - lical clinic, private clinic, private nurse, in a lab? I have no idea.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi, This is known here as filgrastim. I have been given these injections to do myself, but I was told by the nurse on the chemo ward what to do. You should have been told which day after chemo you start these. They are for increasing white blood cells following chemo. Your next step should be to register with a GP, and then perhaps a nurse there will show you how to administer these. You might be able to register as a temporary patient and get seen quickly by a Dr at a GP surgery. The thing is you need to see someone quickly, so that you know how to do this. Surely though if you have had chemo in Istanbul, someone there should have given you instruction. I hope that you get this sorted.
Thank you! I have been given Neupogen shots by my GP in my home country so far, but I still do not have a GP here, have no idea how to register. I was wondering if I could find a private clinic/nurse/volunteering nurse who could do this?
I don't know much about private GPS, I think they are quite rare in UK. I would find your nearest GP by searching on internet, check reviews and go there today. Explain the situation and hopefully they will both register you and help you with injections, as I suspect you need these as soon as possible.
Google private GPs London and I am sure you will find lots. But best bet is to google GPS in your area and walk in to closest one and register today, explain urgencyof situation to receptionist. The nurse could explain how to inject yourself.
I was given a small device attached to my abdomen with an adhesive patch. It delivered the right dose of neupogen at the right time. I’m in the US, and I don’t know if they are available in the UK, but it would be a perfect solution.
Thank you all! I finally decided to give it a shot on my own, it was ok. These days I will do the registration with a GP and hopefully next time I will have where to go. I will have 1 more chemo in Istanbul and then a scan. If I have to continue chemotherapy here, can you tell me what the procedure is. Is it my GP that has to send me to an oncologist? How does it happen here?
